QUOTE | My Modern Day 10 Commandments

If I was ever made to choose one quote to represent everything I believe to be important and true in our lives it would be this one.

I love it. It is simple and self-explanatory.

I have no idea if it’s origin but have come across in numerous places and feel it is basically the modern day 10 commandments.

If you live your life by these basic principles you can’t go morally wrong and will ultimately live a happier, fuller and much more successful life!

1.Be Kind

There is far too much hatred, malice and jealousy in our modern world. Girls hate other girls. Boys compete with other boys and everyone is suspicious of EVERYONE.

To show kindness in your day to day life is a choice, however the desire to be kind is inbuilt in all of us, an innate instinct evident from a young age.

Be kind, perform selfless acts of giving and demonstrate emotional encouragement to those you love. Not only will you feel better for it but it is somewhat contagious – you could be helping to make the world a better place.

2.Word Hard

This life is not meant to be a walk in the park. Nothing comes easy. Success, happiness and love are not simply handed out at birth. (Although most of us are born in to a privilege we take for granted) the life you desire will take hard work.

Work Smart and Work Hard.

3. Stay Humble

Humility is not thinking less of yourself; humility is thinking of yourself, less” – CS. Lewis

Being humble does not mean to be modest, to undermine or downplay your achievements or skills. Instead remain confident in yourself, in your abilities but do not brag or be arrogant as you do not and will never know everything. Bu humble enough to accept advise, and to acknowledge the abilities of others.

4. Smile Often

Not only does every woman, man and child look better when they smile it is scientifically proven to make you feel happier. Smiling makes you more approachable, likeable and confident.

Not only will it help to make you feel better but it will also help to improve the mood of those around you.

5. Stay Loyal

Whether to family, friends, lovers or work partners. Remain loyal to those you care about and those you have made a commitment to. Not only does it yield respect but will encourage loyalty in return.

6. Keep Honest

Don’t lie, cheat, steal or deceive. Honesty creates peace of mind and promotes relationships of trust. Not only does it make you feel better to know you have remained sincere but it is actually easier than lying.

Lies and deceit take time, effort and a lot of work to keep hidden. Plus lies are ALWAYS uncovered in the end.

7. Travel when possible

Do not remain in one place. Even if money is an issue, travel to the next city. You will be surprised the new and enlightened experiences that can be gained from travelling 100 miles away from your own bubble.

8. Never stop learning

You can and will never know everything, but you can try. Never get complacent and never stop reading and absorbing new and thought provoking information.Keep up to date with the world news and learn more about the issues that affect us everyday.

9. Be thankful always

Gratitude is the fullness of life. Its turns what we have into enough and more.

Learn to be grateful for all that you have in that moment. Once you are able to appreciate life as it is you will attract new and exciting avenues.

10. And love

Never forget to love. We were born to love. Whether that love is directed to family, friends or our pets – we do not feel full or happy without experiencing the joy of love.

I hope you were able to take something away from my interpretation and understanding of this quote and maybe you too can learn to live by my modern day commandments.

Have a great day and don’t forget to follow me on my socials.
